History of The Fountain On the 6th of January 2014 The Fountain, Capuchin Institute for Training Counsellors and Psychotherapists was started with the Basic Unit Programme lasting for four weeks (from 6th January to 1st February). The first batch of students were 18. The staff members comprised of Fr. John Antony, OFM.Cap., Fr. Dewaram, OFM.Cap., Fr. Arul Xavier, OFM.Cap., Fr. Amaladass, OFM.Cap., Fr. Stanly, OFM.Cap., Fr. Arockia Doss, OFM.Cap., and Miss Percy Priya. Before the course was over, we already got affiliation to Toronto Centre for Pastoral Counselling Education (TCPCE), Toronto School of Theology, University of Toronto. Also we obtained Memorandum of Understanding (M.o.U.) with Sacred Heart College, Tirupattur (Autonomous), affiliated to Thiruvalluvar University, Vellore and Don Bosco College, Dharmapuri, affiliated to Periyar University, Salem. For the convocation of the course on the 1st of February, Fr. A. J. Mathew, the Provincial of Amala Annai Province of the Northern Tamil Nadu was present to preside over along with many Capuchin brothers. It was a humble beginning with the grace of God. During the convocation, the official website www.thefountain.in and the official email thefountaincaps@gmail.com were launched by Fr. A. J. Mathew. Presently a four-unit programme leading to Diploma in Training Counsellors and Psychotherapists is designed along with other courses. The four-unit programme consists of the Basic Course (unit), Advanced Course (unit), and Diploma Course (unit), each lasting for four weeks. These three courses will be run simultaneously. These courses are conducted in January, May and September, starting from the first Monday of the month at 9 a.m., lasting for four weeks, and ending on the afternoon of Saturday at 1 p.m.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
